Posing can be super awkward, but it doesn't have to be! Depending on your nerves, we can meet up first to break the ice with some coffee and make our shoot day easy-peasy. If you don't have time for that, just know that I practice movement-based prompts to make the session flow as naturally as possible. I won't be standing behind my lens saying, "Now put the left foot with your toes facing east, and your right instep at a 34 degree angle, with your chin at 3 o'clock, and your hips perpendicular to your forearms..."
I've got a whole blog post for that coming up. But the gist of it is that you should be comfortable and confident. If you're doing a family shoot and you're stressed about your son who hasn't taken off his Spiderman PJs in three weeks, we can talk through options or just embrace that awesome willful age and shoot him as he comes!
That depends on what you're looking for. Want a laid back shoot in your house? We can do that. I love a documentary style approaching to capturing life. It can be raw and unfiltered or we can dress it up with a better-than-average outfit, and some careful framing to keep the clutter out. Or maybe you want a flower field or mountain top? I know a few spots! Maybe you don't know what you want, and that's fine too. Let's walk through your vision and my location scouting list, and I know we'll think of something perfect!
